Biografía

Nació en Tui, Pontevedra (España) Es licenciada en Periodismo por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, ciudad en la que vive. Combina la escritura con la pintura así como puntuales colaboraciones en medios. Irrumpe en el mundo literario con su primera novela “El Currículum de Aurora Ortiz” (Suma de Letras, 2002) con la que recabó excelentes críticas y comentarios de otros escritores. Publicada en Inglaterra, “The Curriculum Vitae of Aurora Ortiz” (Random House, 2005) ha conseguido el reconocimiento unánime de la crítica en The Independent, Daily Mail, The Guardian, Evening Standard, y Ready Steady Book.com, así como The Glasgow Herald o readallday.com. Su segunda novela, “Las mujeres inglesas destrozan los tacones al andar” (Suma, 2007) reconocida unánimemente por la crítica, supuso el respaldo definitivo de los lectores, “La importancia de los peces fluorescentes” (Suma, 2009) es su tercera novela, un trabajo al que ha dedicado seis años y que ha sido aplaudido por la crítica. En otoño 2011, la autora disfruta de la adaptación al teatro de su primera novela “The CV of Aurora Ortiz” en Inglaterra. Esta obra está en gira en distintos teatros de Inglaterra. En la actualidad, la autora trabaja en lo que será su cuarta novela.

Born in Tui, Pontevedra (Spain), Solana holds a degree in journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she now lives. She combines writing and painting with diverse media collaborations. She broke into the literary world with her first novel "The Curriculum Vitae of Aurora Ortiz" (Suma de Letras, 2002) that received excellent reviews and commentary from other writers. Published in England, The Curriculum Vitae of Aurora Ortiz (Random House, 2005) won unanimous recognition from The Independent, Daily Mail, The Guardian, Evening Standard, and Ready Steady Book.com, as well as The Glasgow Herald. Her second novel, "English women shatter their heels by walking" (Suma, 2007) was unanimously recognized by critics, and marked the final endorsement of readers. "The importance of fluorescent fish" (Suma, 2009) is her third novel, of which she dedicated six years, and that has been applauded by the critique. In Autumn 2011, the authoress enjoys the adjustment to the Theatre in England of his first novel: "The CV of Aurora Ortiz " This work is in tour in different theatres of England. The authoress is working on what is going to be her fourth novel.
